This is a blog entry for my course Visual Effects taught at Bloomfield College.
I do a lot of stuff on my own in this course and its nice learning about special effects and everything. The main reason I took this course was for the green screen work.
The Invisible Man:
The only problem I had with this project was getting a good part of joe to appear without distorting the rest of the figure.
The Dreamer:
An in class assignment. With my earlier aftereffects experience I had not trouble with this.
Homework Assignment 2: Doubles
A homework assignment to insert yourself twice in the same scene
The problems I had with this was the rotoscoping took a long time and it was my second time working with animating a mask I was a little nervous and I never quite stare at myself because I never had an assignment like this so I had to improvise staring at myself
Random Effects Practice:
I was just practicing key framing certain effects and just testing out what could be done with the treadmill video
Car Hit
This video presented me with multiple ways I could accomplish the same thing but the one I found was less time-consuming and presented an overall better display of composition with lighting and wind in the background was masking out the car and hitting myself on the same video. I basically toon a 20 second clip of nothing before I walked across the street giving me the same lighting and near perfect wind sync so I could successfully mask myself out in the end and hit myself with the car.
Sparta!
This Project I had to insert myself into a movie using the green screen.
O I learned alot on this project. How to properly setup greenscreen lights, The importance of planning your shot cause I actually had to reshot the kick when everything was suppose to be done and I learned about color correction. the process was simple for me to line everything up because I watched the video and practice my moves before I shot which is how I approach every project so I never really have any trouble
Homework 1: Disappearing
For this project we had to make an object disappear, i didn’t know it had to be int he same place to stop then start the movie so I guess I cheated a bit, but this was fairly simple and I enjoyed it alot
Lightsaber Test:
Testing the lightsaber effect and rotoscoping. I fins the lightsaber preset to be much easier ><
Greenscreen test Ricardo:
In-class test of background replacement
Frame Replace
Testing corner pin tracking and still image replacements. There was really no difficulty with this one. I just used a frame rendered out as a jpeg file and brought it into photoshop where I took the element I needed and isolated it. then ported it back into after effects and used corner pin tracking to track the inside of the frame and place the data on the photoshop layer. It was fun and easy to do. might experiment with it more in the future
Fly in Test:
I wanted to test footage of me flying in:
Test Greenscreen Treadmill:
In-class test of the treadmill created for visual effects use
Animation With Effects Test:
The first part of my final was to test out putting effects on a 3d model I animated
Test shot me redirecting Lightning and final comp:
I wanted to also do a test to redirect lightning:
